We have apple trees in our yard...
...and I'm having fun with them. apple sauce, and dried apple snacks... and apple pie for our Sunday evening dinner guests! I grew up with this Johnny Appleseed cartoon, and my siblings and I have been singing the songs all autumn to each other, every time I bring something apple-ish from the kitchen. As part of your own autumn celebration, enjoy this second part of Johnny's story. The first part you can find on youtube if you like. (search: disney johnny appleseed)
Yummmy! I can attest to the deliciousness of the pie! It makes me want to don a tin-pot-cap and spread the goodness of the seeds throughout the world. Incidentally, don't you think Johnny looks a lot like the cartoon version of Ichabod Crane? I thought they were related as a child, or that the cartoonists had become lazy and were reusing drawings!

It's mighty fine having your apple spirit around the homeplace. Thank you son, (indecipherable)!

I forgot that was where "The Lord is good to me" diddy became part of my repertoire! Ahh, the memories!
I always loved this cartoon and it's song was one of the first that I sang to my baby without even realizing it.
