Jesse, My Authentic Mirror

Jesse- "I feel like I'm looking in a mirror.  You have a level of authenticity that I recognize inside myself."

Me- "Jesse, did you know that I'm calling this my "Mirror Concert Tour"?

Jesse- (pause) "No, I didn't know that! Of course you are."

I just met Jesse Dow last week through email.  Not knowing me at all, he arranged for accommodations, he took me on a tour of his beloved farm, he announced my last minute concert in his community.  Jesse believes in the gift economy as passionately as I do.  He even created a coin called the "datti".

I absolutely love this photo of my first performance.
It's me, and my mirror, Jesse.  I looked him in the eyes and sang my original song, dedicated to him, about living.

"Show me your colors
As we feast below this sky
Let me celebrate you tonight
Play me your music
and wash me in your light
Cause honey you know where you're going...
It's your life you're living,
and you're living."

This photo represent exactly the way I want to create this tour.  Personal. Intimate.  Soul to soul connection. Mirrors.  Whether there is one person or 35,000 people in my future audiences, there is always just one. There will always be that "one" who is affected, touched, inspired. And that one will go out and affect, touch and inspire.  Yes, I believe in the power of one.

Today it is Jesse.

Me- "Jesse, looking in your eyes shattered mortality for me, and I saw your infinite self.  An hour later, I am still recuperating.  From one infinite being to another, I get to tell you that I love you."

Jesse- "I see you. Now I know you are out there believing in my dreams.  It gives me strength. And I love you too."

Jesse gave me a datti coin, I gave him a cd, and we gave each other the gift of our excitement about how we will work together in the future to bring the joys we have experienced of a gift economy to our beautiful global family.
