Interesting isn't it? Being alone is often intertwined with being sad.




These three trees are dead inside, despite the colors, textures and life surrounding them.



I put the three canvases side by side because I find the reality of feeling our most alone in a crowd of people most intriguing.






So the trees have a choice. They can be sad, and believe their happiness is dependent on another tree, or a different color sky.



Or they can surrender to being alone, and learn to love their own shadow.
