As of this morning's team meeting, I will be spending a significant amount of my time working with...
MOVE! (Managing Obese Veterans Everywhere... everything in the government is an acronym. I have to say this is one of their more clever ones.)

This dedicated team I'm working with is fantastic. One health director, two dieticians, two physical therapists, three recreation therapists, the whole cafeteria staff, throw in a couple volunteers and we're good to go! It's exciting for the patients to see their progress too. "Tom" proudly told us he's already lost 19.4 lbs just by joining our walking program over the last month. We had a guy start out at 350 lbs. "I started out not being able to walk around the block. So instead I just walked to the corner and back." He's lost over 130 in the last two years.
"Just do something," the team tells our patients, "Even if it's just moving your arms. Everything helps. Just...
move." They also tell them that it's critical to change their taste palate. They have to allow their body the chance to crave a whole new way of eating.

I got recruited this morning in our meeting to direct more of my time here. They needed someone to help head a huge event starting in November. I'm a bit nervous since I'm still so new here.
But I'm very glad. I get so into this health stuff.

it is so awesome what you are doing and what kind of impact you are able to make.....
random sort of question: are you still creating and selling paintings?
yep, I spent my Thursday and Saturday nights this week painting a commission.
When I was at Intel, they had so many acronyms, they had a dictionary of TLAs (that would be the acronym for three-letter acronyms or course)
