I started this foundation a year ago because I had one question... is it REALLY possible to have my wildest dreams come true? What about if I go beyond my wildest dreams? Does anyone go there?
Turns out, they do. Lots of them. In fact, I started listening to only those people who decide to go THERE. I surround myself with those people. I kindly refuse to believe anything or anyone else.
So I'm not the teacher here, except that this foundation is the tool I've chosen to teach myself. I'm a life-dream scientist I suppose. I study the laws, the chemistry potions, the equations...of dreams.
I know there are so many causes to get behind. I care deeply about environmental issues. I care about human trafficking. I care about poverty, hunger. I care. Out of all the causes I have chosen to dedicate my life to, I have chosen one that comes with wallpaper motifs of fairy wands, foam stars, and talking animals with rainbow colored tails. As Pollyanna and My-Little-Pony as it sounds, I believe dreaming changes the world.
I'm listening to an expert billionaire right now who has shared some great insights about how he makes his dreams come true. These insights weren't new to me, but before I walked away, he asked me, "How teachable are you?" And I realized that I would do well in sitting down and listening. That is a good place to start.
He helped me get back to the basics:
HOW TO DREAM
1. Define my dream. What do I want? Have I written it down? Do I talk about it with my friends/family? Am I happy when I imagine it?
2. Have a burning desire for it. He says to have an obsession for it. A massive obsession, meaning, am I ready to make changes in my world for my dream to come true?
3. Feel good, feel grateful. No matter the circumstances. Change my thoughts to always come back to this state of being, no matter how many things are falling apart. He used the example of Thomas Edison. Edison was asked, "You tried 10,000 ways of creating the light bulb. How did you handle that amount of disappointment?" Edison answered something like, "I didn't experience any disappointment at all. I found 10,000 ways it didn't work. How wonderful is that!"
4. Blocked...he says that the only reason I'd ever feel blocked is if I don't believe I can have the dream. There are a zillion ways the dream can come true. If it doesn't work one way, try another. Keep feeling good, keep that burning desire, keeping feeling grateful. Don't put a time limit on the manifestation. Just stay consistent and repeat these steps as often as possible, he says, like watering a garden.
So that's the recipe from my new billionaire friend. Worth doing an experiment, eh?

This is really great Emily. Thank you for reminding us of "the basics." That's a good friend to have!
I really liked the questions he asked. Especially, "does it make you happy?" That's what dreaming is all about, right? Living to our most joyous, happiest potential?
Thanks Emily. And thanks Mr. Billionaire!
