Meet one of my board members and fellow dreamer, Lumina Infinite' Gershfield. In this picture, we are swimming in a resort pool in India. That morning we went to the hotel's restaurant for breakfast. One part of our conversation went something like this...
Lumina: "So what creative project are you currently working on?"
Emily: "I think I want to start a non-profit organization."
Lumina, getting out her notebook to make a record of whatever happens next: "Ooh really? What kind?"
Emily: "I don't know many details. What I do know is that I have had so many of my dreams come true in my life, that now I want to help others live their dreams too. I mean look at us! I'm sitting in a hotel with my best friend in INDIA! We dreamed this years ago and now here we are! I have a vision of changing the energy of money so that it can be given away abundantly, instead of people thinking that it's a hard thing to give and receive."
Lumina: "How will you get the money to give away?"
Emily, thinking: "Hm, good question. I know I want to tap into the creative spirit...artists, musicians, writers, entrepreneurs. They aren't known to be the richest people out there, but that doesn't matter with this kind of project. What I value most are people with vision and confidence."
Lumina, nodding and writing: "I see. And what will your non-profit be called?"
Emily, silent for a long while: "The Million Kisses Foundation."
Lumina looks up and smiles.
I had no idea where the name came from. Suddenly it was on my lips and I was speaking it aloud. I went on and further explained, (as if I knew what I was talking about...) that I believe millions of dollars can be given away to helping dreams come true as effortlessly as millions of kisses, and I want to be part of that work. In fact, I am PASSIONATE about that work.
Take another look at that picture. I have studied our eyes. This conversation at breakfast with Lumina is one of hundreds. We bi-annually record and witness each other's wildest dreams lists. We then commit to each other to keep one another accountable in working on the items of our lists.
The staff at the Millions Kisses Foundation believe in the impossible because we've all seen impossible things happen.
Three years later, I have slowly worked to build this foundation. It is slow, but steady. What is most consistent is this passion I feel in supporting you in living a life of fulfilled dreams.
There is no work more important to me.
