ART AUCTION

Dear Beautiful People in my Life,

I'm auctioning off 3 original paintings.

I'm organizing an art auction to benefit the non-profit organization, The George Foundation, where I volunteered in India and completed my master degree project. (For more about the organization, go here: http://www.tgfworld.org/).

The foundation is the most quality organization I've ever been part of. I recently donated $1500 to help sponsor the "untouchable" India children I love. In a nutshell, Shanti Bhavan Boarding School takes children from the poverty-stricken untouchable class of small villages (part of the antiquated caste system) and gives them 12 years of a first world education, competitive with some of the world's finest educational institutions. Children who you might have seen on the news begging in the streets are now playing Steinway pianos, speaking English fluently, and telling their chemistry teachers that they want to be an aeronautical engineer when they grow up. I believe in sustainable education, and poverty-eradication projects... like this one.

Four other artists joined me in this auction. They want to help raise money to match my donation of $1500.

Original art makes a wonderful birthday, Christmas, anniversary or wedding present! Here is a picture of one of my originals being displayed at a wedding reception, commissioned by the bride's father.

If you'd like to purchase an original from me or the other artists, at the same time helping a good cause, here are two options:

1. I would love to do a commissioned painting for you, based on a photo you send me, complete with my original stylization. This is effective immediately. The price bid begins at $100. For samples of my work, go to: http://www.passionforartexperiment.blogspot.com/. I will include the other artists' samples in another blog entry.

2. OR, the artists are currently working on originals to donate to this auction. The pieces will go to the highest bidder. I'll put those up by October 17th.

ARTISTS taking part in this project:

D'Arcy Benincosa (photographer)
Cinna Boyle
Keva Gneiting
Kirsten Atkins
Emily Potter

If you aren't interested in purchasing art, but would like to contribute one dollar bill, you'd be welcome. I want to hand over $3,000 when I'm done, and I'm incredibly serious when I say that one dollar bill from each of you is incredibly generous. THANK YOU in advance.

Yay Jenn!

I'm doing the dollar thing through paypal. Otherwise people can go straight to the secured site directly to the school:

Thank you!
