Thaifoon

This was fun. My first Thaifoon Restaurant gig was last night. Besides a customer coming up and telling me that we were too loud in a certain song, it went well. The restaurant manager, Nik, rocked my world. I'm glad he was pleased.

I had some delightful friends come to support me. THANK YOU! It's a good sign when your friends tell you that you should try to play weekly at this or that venue.

This guy in the hat is Paul Boruff, the one who got me lined up with this gig. He told me he wants to record together, which is one of the best compliments I can get from someone who's folk-style music makes my jaw drop. www.paulboruff.com

With a little more practice, my band and I will improve harmonies, etc. In any case, last night we truly had a good time, and I get the leftovers for lunch today!

The next one will be May 20th, and hopefully we'll be out on the patio if the weather is nice and warm.

Dang! I needed a reminder! I simply sat home last night and watched old WB dramas!

Wow. You rockstar, you.

Can you believe you're doing it? I have to confess, I almost can't. It's surreal. I feel like I should come and rent a room in your house and meet you and wonder at how you do it and teach you all kinds of things about beauty and self and we'll have ceremonies and new discoveries and then we'll move to a new house and we'll have performance art nights and then you'll get engaged and married and I'll move to another town to get my master's degree and I'll write music and go overseas and come back and decide to write... a novel.

can i quote myself? okay... sure...

"these women are so beautiful and so passionate that this is not the right place for them...people here dont understand... we dont understand... they really have the potential to elevate"

yep... i stand by my words...i look forward to seeing you all preform in a more fitting venue... one that allows you and invites you to elevate all of us... and... until that time comes i will support you at farmers markets and Thai restaurants... but i think a more fitting venue is a very near reality...

You came home very happy last night and that makes me happy. I'll catch your gig on the flipside.

ha ha! Skye, that was funny.

It was interesting to see you in me...I still feel all sorts of awe at you doing this. I remembered how I felt when I watched you sing...

As I unloaded my equipment from my car (on crutches), I had all sorts of images of you, and Bryce, and your current boyfriend carrying in bags and speakers and such.

As I loaded stuff back in my car afterward, with all kinds of people offering to help, I again thought of you...how grateful you were for help. I kept saying outloud to my helpers, "I love help! I love people who help! Thank you!"

I hope to have as much poise, confidence, sexiness, wit and passion as Skye Pixton the musician.

And thank you to everyone for your comments!
