While we were standing at a look out point at Cedar Breaks I said, "Hey I remember once in college when a group of us spontaneously drove down to the Grand Canyon." D'Arcy replied, "I've never been to the Grand Canyon." We all looked at each other, contemplating the joy and unusual coincidence that none of us had any reason why the heckfire not to just keep driving south.

I've been told that having a child is a heaven unlike any I've hereto experienced. It's probably true.

But in the meantime, I stayed in a farm house in Parowan for three nights that had about 37 hens on everything from ceramic cookie containers, clocks, rugs and oven mitts.

And honestly, as a 30 year old single woman madly in love with the idea of someone being so passionate about fowl, I'll confide something in you. My heaven is right now. Whatever I'm doing, whoever I am. It's not later. It's not after I get a killer job, or have my first baby, or when I put my wedding pictures up on this blog. Heaven lives in me today and tomorrow and the next day. Most of you already know this and apply it in your own life, and if you don't already know this and apply it, you're probably going to learn it eventually.
My heaven at this very moment: I hardly ever read a novel twice. Except C.S. Lewis' Screwtape Letters, and now I'm pleased to announce that Harper Lee made the list. It's 2:00 a.m. right now, and I'm about to read myself to sleep. I'm wearing my favorite pair of jeans, which I'll soon exchange for the most delightfully soft pajamas I've ever owned. I went running this morning because I'm training for a 5K run on the fourth of July. I can feel my muscles getting rock solid. I rented a Frank Capra movie from the library that I get to watch tomorrow while I eat fresh salmon for dinner....
Honey...
...there is most definitely all kinds of heaven on earth.
So what's your's right now?

Halleluia for you.
I wish my heaven was right now. But, unfortunately, I'm waiting for it to come in two weeks, when I get to have my husband during the day time too!
I'm so happy you kept driving south! Wonderful.
oh Emily. i'm so happy for you. i really am!
this is so fantastic.
my heaven is here too. i'm finally conquering old fears and winding up old wounds. interesting how quickly the Adversary wants to creep in and take it all away. i am finally realizing the power of evil... but more importantly the power of LOVE! especially loving yourself! :)
what joy! what BLISS!
i wish i had been able to see the Grand Canyon with you. i've always wanted to go there.
soon i will likely be passing through Utah... if not living there again. so hopefully i will be able to see your beautiful face. and i expect to see a smile on it. :)
My heaven is having my car stolen along with my mini carpet cleaner... 'cause imagining a car thief stealing away with a carpet cleaner just makes me chuckle. And having a hubby who will laugh with you!
amen sista friend! my heaven right now is sitting in a one bedroom apartment with my one and only roommate-my cat, and picking snowpeas off of my plant i have growing on my small patio and watching other herbs, veg, and flowers growing, and smelling the fragrance of my candle, and just being able to sit here and communicate with you.....
What a fun trip. And I agree with the book choice, To Kill a Mockingbord is one I have read twice and just thinking about it makes me want to read it again.
Once again I find myself perusing your delightful blog. I'm never sure what causes me to google "emily moon soul" and then connect to your link, but whatever it is that leads me here (now wait...I know exactly what it is and He is MY Holy Ghost inside of me, helping me!!) So let me just say thank you. I too want to make my heaven now...RIGHT NOW. Enough, I'm done bellyaching....I LIVE NOW. YAY!!!! I feel SO good right and blessings and peace to you Emily!!!
