Two celebrations in November!

CHILDREN'S DAY!

Happy Children's Day! Every November India (and Russia, if not more countries...) celebrates children. The teachers at the school celebrate by performing dances and skits for the children, who sat and watched us for over two hours.

Bringing Montana to India

Yee haw!

I taught this country line dance to the teachers and then to the kids who now BEG me to do it in our evening dance classes. So, please, imagine the Dixie Chicks playing in the middle of banana fields for Indian children pretending to be American cowboys. Oh the moments only I get to enjoy!

I was the honored finale of the show. It was so fun (and a bit nerve-racking) to do an Indian dance for an Indian audience.

These women wearing these brilliant colored sarees are actually the cleaning staff. They wear these incredible colorful dresses while they do laundry, pull weeds, and other chores. And they keep their sarees pristinely clean and in excellent condition. I don't know how they do it, and I still can't believe it when I see it.
THANKSGIVING DAY!

Thanksgiving Day breakfast: This was the closest thing to pancakes and syrup for breakfast!

My Thanksgiving Saree! They dressed me up for the occassion and I felt so beautiful. It made my holiday less painful that I wasn't with my family.

So! I'm still happy and healthy and loving it! I'll be here all weekend long, so write when you can!
