The Montana Regional Rainbow Gathering

The National gathering happened in Colorado. I attended a small family who gathered here who couldn't make it there.

This is Chuck, one of the originators of the rainbow family gathering back in 1972. Their main purpose is to gather to send love and light into the world.

This is my little campsite.

This is Feather, who was also at the first one and has participated in the organizing of the gathering ever since. This year the family gathered in Colorado totaled around 20,000 people.

I know that this gathering gets many negative images in the media. Every story has two sides.

I mainly wanted to say that this last picture is simply amazing. I'm sure it was much better in person, too.

Of course, me being me, I can't help but comment on the rest of the post. I remember one such gathering happening near Heber City in good ol' Utah. It got a lot of press. It was mostly negative, as you mention, before the gathering, but since the organizers (are there really organizers, per se, for such a thing?) made sure things got cleaned up afterwards, the post-event press was fairly neutral. My only impression was that a few were left dealing with the clean-up job left by many.

Anyway, I hope you had a good time.
