"Walk Barefoot Here"

The Art and Heritage Center has accepted my painting "Walk Barefoot Here" in their gallery!

This is the same painting, but in a more competitive exhibit. Where the first gallery it was accepted in (fall 2005) was limited to students from the University of Montana, this exhibit takes in all artists from 5 STATES! (Wyoming, Montana, Washington, Idaho and North Dakota).

I am one of only 26 artists who had an entry accepted! (I really can't believe any of this...)

"Walk Barefoot Here"
artist: Emily Ann Potter
acrylic on canvas
Receiver of the "Caras Nursery Award"
For Sale: $250

I welcome your feedback, your criticism, your interpretation of the title, or anything about the piece itself.

I think the title absolutely makes it. I love that it's an invitation/command. It puts the viewer right inside the painting, imaging your real toes touching the painted grass. It crosses the bridge between the artist and the art-appreciater, much in the same way performance art connects the performer and the audience. Therein lies its power.

You have a talent for drawing people in. You've done it here visually as well.
