My painting entitled, "Walk Barefoot Here" was accepted into a GALLERY. It was shown at the First Friday artwalk and will be displayed to the public for the next two weeks.
And last Friday night I was invited to go to an awards ceremony, where I received an AWARD for the painting!
I really want to get a picture of it up here to show you. I hope to borrow a digital camera.
SPECIAL NOTE: I've been receiving emails from some of you telling me you love the art I'm doing but you are jealous of my artistic "talent". This really confuses me. To you I say, (kindly) "Stop whining and go buy a canvas." And then I'd like to follow up and say, "...and don't stop until you like what you see."
(Do you know how long it took me to stop whining and buy a canvas?)

Hi Emily!
How surprising to get a comment from 'myself' on my blog. I decided that I definitely had to come check out your site. Anyhow, to answer your question, my book is complete, I am currently the midst of the damnable query letter, which is proving more difficult to write than the entire novel!
Congrats on getting into a gallery, that's really amazing. I see from your profile that we're the same age and have some of the same interests. What type of writing do you do? I concentrate mostly on fantasy. I'm also curious to know what you're studying...your office looks spookily like my grad student office from a couple of years ago.
Anyhow, it was very cool to meet you and feel free to stay in touch!

I'm not surprised your art wins awards. It's lovely. I have a spot in my room reserved for my very own Emily Potter. Now all I need is the money to buy one before you become super-famous and your snooty agent demands thousands for each piece. :)
I tried buying canvases many years ago. The results consistantly broke my heart. So I took up pottery, and it was a love-match. I wish I still had the means to throw a few pots every now and then. I like the way the clay squishes between my fingers.
